Spring Beauty Trend: Mandarin Madness

It’s time to ditch your pink and purple hues and try
something a little bolder. Orange lipsticks are making a huge comeback this
season and it’s a no-brainer why. It’s a versatile color that you wear
throughout the spring, summer and fall. Also, the color looks good on every
skin tone. It’s a must-have for all makeup addicts who want to brighten up
their look.
The key to pulling off this lip is to keep the rest of your
makeup subtle (this is a must, if you’re wearing a bright lip). You can keep
your eyes simple, buy putting on a liquid or gel liner on top of your eye lids
and winging them out at the end for a cat eye look or you can use neutral
shades on your lids, if you want to wear eye shadow with this look.
As I mentioned earlier, orange lipsticks look great on any
skin tone; however if you’re apprehensive on what shade is best, these
guidelines might help.
For fair skin tones: It is best to choose a bright orange that
has a red undertone in it, like Nars Semi-Matte Lipstick in Heat Wave $26 or Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids Lipstick in Vibrant Mandarin $7.49.

For medium skin tones: Choose a burnt orange color, like MAC Cosmetics Lipstick in Chili $15 or NYX by NYX Lipstick in Indie Flick $5.99.

For darker skin tones: Opt for a blue-based orange lip
color, like MAC Cosmetics Lipstick in Morange $15 or NYX Round Case Lipstick in Sunflower $3.99.

You can still keep your pink and purple lipsticks for the
spring and summer, if orange isn’t the color for you.
