My Fall Essentials Vol. 2

Hey guys! Today I am sharing with y’all what my fall essentials are this year and I am collaborating with some of my favorite blogging buddies as well again. Last November I did a fall collaboration with a few bloggers, but this year its a little different. Instead of all the ladies sending me what their must-haves are, I decided that we should all share a list of things ranging from beauty to skincare and fashion (of course!) that are essential for us this season and then we link to all the other ladies who participated in the collab as well.

I enjoy collaborating with other bloggers because its fun and you get to meet new people and develop connections with them. Plus its fun to see how other bloggers interpret these types of things. I actually got this idea from beauty vlogger BeautyyBird from YouTube and decided it would be fun to do. I collaborated with my boos Heather from Fashionista NY Girl, Diane from Style Context and Katie from Lucy & Camilla. Be sure to check them out and see what their fall must haves are.

I told the ladies that they have to have 7-10 items ranging from any of the three categories. I would say compiling this list was a bit hard for me since I wanted to keep this list small and not make it just about fashion, but I think I did good.

  • Dark Lipstick

Of course I had to start off with some beauty products. Haha. On Monday I wrote about my favorite dark lipsticks, which you can read about here. I don’t really have to say much about dark lipsticks except I love wearing vampy lipstick especially during the Fall. There’s lots of shades and varieties that will compliment many different skin tones.

  • Highlighter

I absolutely love highlighters and the glow it gives the skin. Normally I would use highlighters in the summertime because I want that sun-kissed look and glow, but I am wanting to use them more so that my face doesn’t look flat during the colder months. I still want to add have that “glow from within” look. Recently I bought the Shimmering Skin Perfector by Becca cosmetics in the shade Topaz, which is a golden bronze highlight. I can’t wait to try it out especially I’ve been hearing lots of people rave about them.

  • A Makeup Palette

When I do decide on putting color on my lids, I see myself reaching for the Amrezy Palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills. This palette is getting more love then my Vice 2 palette from Urban Decay and I love that palette! The colors in the Amrezy palette are perfect for fall especially the Deep Plum shade. It’s the perfect color for creating a smokey eye and they have a beautiful jewel toned purple and green color that is great for a pop of color. Also it’s cheaper to buy a whole palette that contains 12-20 shades than buying individual ones.

  • Lip Balm
I’m not sure if lip balms are technically considered as skincare but to me I have to make sure my lips are just as moisturized as my face. Once the weather gets a bit cooler, my lips get really chapped sometimes especially when I’m wearing matte lipsticks. Blistex is such a life-saver for me during these months. They moisturize my lips like no other and when my lips gets burned during the winter months, Blistex helps alleviate the irritation. I always have it in my bag and it goes with me everywhere I go.

  • Glory Boon French Green Clay Mask
I briefly talked about this product in my July favorites post, but the more I use it, the more I love it. Sometimes throughout the week, I would go out everyday with a full face of makeup on and even though I wipe my face with makeup remover wipes and wash my face; there is still dirt. So once a week when I have time I would apply this mask on my face, leave it on for a few minutes and then wash it off. The green tea in the mask tightens my pores and leaves my skin feeling nice and refresh. Thank you Alex for sending this to me! Check out her products and her blog
  • Over Sized Sweaters

I have been obsessed with over sized knits lately. These are a staple in everyone’s wardrobe. I have a few of them and I love that I can pair them with leggings, jeans or a skirt. I like that I can play with an over sized sweater. If it has a wide neck, you can adjust the neck so that it can be a dropped shoulder top like I did here below. Plus the are comfy and keep you very warm.

  • Beanies

One of my favorite things about Fall is that I can wear beanies! As soon as the weather got cooler I automatically brought mines out to play. Not only does it keep me warm but on the days when my hair looks like a mess or I don’t feel like doing it, I can throw on one of these bad boys and it pulls my whole outfit together. Also I like that I can wear with just about anything and adds an edge to my outfit. And yes I’m wearing the same sweater from the pic above but in a different way. Love the versatility!

  • Leather Jacket

This was my Fall must-have pick last year and it’s nice to see that it hasn’t changed. It’s a item that everyone should have in their closet. Leather jackets adds an extra edge to any outfit and I love that it’s a versatile piece.

  • Tights

It’s not fall without a pair of tights! I love wearing tights with short skirts and dresses since its too cold for me to wear them during the winter. Tights aren’t boring like before, now they come in lots of colors and patterns so that it can add a fun element to your outfit. I’m definitely going to add some patterned ones to my collection of black tights this season.
