Hey loves! I hope you guys are having a good start to the week. Thanksgiving this week which means I’m going to hit the gym extra hard on Friday so I can work off all the good food I’m going to eat. I can’t wait! Back to the look. I haven’t shot an OOTD since September…eek! I’m working on posting to those more often. Anyhoo, I shot this look last week when it was about 20 degrees outside. Yes I know I’m crazy and believe me after I took off my jacket, I was terribly cold! Thankfully my friend Gwen was able to get some good shots despite freezing my ass off.

I bought these pants from H&M awhile ago and it was only $35! When I was browsing the website, these pants were flying off the shelves and the size 12 I wanted was sold out so I took a risk and ordered a size 10. Thank goodness they fit because I hate returning items. I don’t know why but I always hated doing that especially when the store does not give you back your money. Anyway, I love these pants! I was attracted to these pants because I don’t really own anything like this in my closet and they are high waisted., which I love. You can’t really see this detail due to my boots but the bottom of the pants are boot cut but has a strap and two buttons where you can wrap the strap around your ankle, button it and now the pants are tapered. I thought that was a nice detail to the pants because you can wear them different ways.
I wanted to keep my outfit very neutral by pairing these pants with a beige turtleneck and cardigan. Since I was playing with neutrals, I wanted my boots and bag to be in the same color family of my top. So I went with deeper shades of brown so that the look doesn’t become too monochromatic. I kind of forgot I had these boots in my closet since my brother bought them for me when he was at Woodbury Commons during Black Friday in 2011. Talk about a #tbt. These boots are so comfortable and are great for fall. Since my bag is a reddish brown color, it adds a little pop of color without  overpowering the outfit. I added gold accessories because gold looks amazing with these colors and a red lip to tie the whole look together.

Normally I don’t experiment with neutrals too much, but I decided to try something different and I’m happy I did. My color palette is very plain during the fall/winter season, however I’m going to try some more green/neutral/brown looks more often.

What are your go-to color combinations during the fall/winter?
