Hot or Hype? Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick Review

Anastasia Beverly Hills has been on a roll lately. Within the last 6 months the mother and daughter duo behind the brand has released three new palettes, individual eyeshadows and the newest addition to their arsenal of kick-ass products, liquid lipsticks. It seems as though everybody and their mama have been creating liquid lipsticks to add to their line, however as a self-proclaimed lipstick connoisseur and lover, I don’t mind at all. I personally like the formula of a liquid lipstick as oppose to a regular one (I love matte lipsticks!) and you get more product for your money.

Anastasia Beverly Hills released these liquid lipsticks about three weeks ago and the YT/beauty community is going bananas over these. So you know I had to see what the hype is all about. I mean it wouldn’t be right if I didn’t review them. According to ABH’s website these liquid lipsticks are “full coverage, intense pigment, and a matte finish in an easy-to-apply liquid formula. One sweep delivers vibrant long-wearing color that sets all day.” I bought three colors, Spicy (a red orange shade), Carina (a hot pink shade), and Potion (a deep eggplant shade). These lipsticks are so pigmented! One swipe, instant color. However I must say with Spicy and Carina, I did have to apply another swipe of product to get the color to be even on my lips. Norvina did say in her YT video that with some of the lighter shades you might have to reapply another coat to get the intense pigmentation. With Potion I only needed to apply it once to my lips to get the color nice and even.

What I love about these liquid lipsticks is that once they dry, it feels as though there is nothing on my lips and they aren’t drying to my lips at all. They are so soft! I love KVD Everlasting lipsticks, but they are a bit drying to my lips. Also with the ABH liquid lipsticks, I have a little of time to play around with the product on my lips as oppose to it drying quickly like some other brands. I will admit, I suck at putting on liquid lipsticks. I have to constantly reapply to make the color even or wipe the color off the sides of lips and I can do that easily without it drying on me. The only grip I do have with the product is that I don’t think they are very long lasting to me. I will drink and eat and some of the color would come off my lips and I have to reapply again. If I don’t eat or drink then the color doesn’t wear off my lips. But other than that, I would buy more of them! Actually I’m planning on buying three more this week. I love all of the shades that they released and think that majority are women of color friendly. My favorite shade is Potion because it is very pigmented and I’m a sucker for dark lips. I wore Potion in my last post and I’m in love.
If you are on the fence about buying these, I think you should stop thinking about it and just do it. They have a great range of colors (19 to be exact) and more coming in the Spring/Summer. These lipsticks retail for $20. These are available on Anastasia Beverly Hills website and Macy’s.
These lipsticks are definitely hot! There is a reason everybody is going gaga over these. What you guys think about the new ABH liquid lipsticks? Would you buy them?

  • I really like Carina. I think I'll have to get that one.

    • It's a really beautiful color! Don't think about it, get it! lol thanks for reading 🙂

  • Wow! The shades looks good on you and the product is so pigmented. I love the Matte texture.

    • Thanks Shekinah! It's was a bit hard choosing those shades since I bought them online, I didn't how they would look on me; but I love all the colors. The pigmentation is bananas especially the color Potion. Matte is my favorite lip formula as well too. Thanks for reading 🙂
