20 Motivational Quotes to Start Your Week

Hello loves! I know that I have been MIA but to be honest I’m a little preoccupied with getting my life together. I’m going through what I would like to call an “quarter life crisis”. I’m at the point in my life where I need to figure out what I need to do to live the life I’m supposed to live, because working in retail is NOT it! I know what I want my career to be, which is a fashion journalist/correspondent. I have my goals planned out (more or less), however I am not leaving this blog behind. I want to take you guys on this journey with me.

While I go on hiatus from FRTW, I will be redesigning and re-branding my blog. I’ve started FRTW as way to merge my passion for fashion, beauty and writing into one and as a way to get my foot into the fashion world. Unfortunately,  I have lost sight of this. I went with the flow and just thought that I would be successful without putting in any effort. It’s a horrible way of thinking. My guess is that form of thinking came from seeing well-known bloggers just post an OOTD, share it on Instagram and watch all the likes come to their phone. That could not be far from the truth. Fashion blogging is very over saturated and one needs to have a unique voice to be different from the rest of the pack. There’s a lot of work that goes into blogging and I ‘m ready to take that first step to become more serious about this because I am passionate about this. I can talk about style, fashion and beauty (especially makeup!) for hours, so why not share it with you guys :). I’m very happy with the relationships and connections that I made through my blog, but I started to get caught up in the numbers as oppose to the content. I started to think why I couldn’t be “viral” or why won’t I get enough likes on Instagram. It was beginning to consume me to an extent to the point where I wouldn’t write anything for a week or more because I felt as though nobody will read it.

Nonetheless I am not a quitter which is why I want to rebuild FRTW. I enjoy blogging and four years ago I didn’t think that this is where I would be. Because of this blog I’ve attended New York Fashion Week numerous times. Going to NYFW has always been a dream of mine and I want to thank you guys for that opportunity and I will continue thank you for the future ones that will come my way.

I can’t put a time limit on when I’ll be back (hopefully before the summer ends), but I will be back! I just need this time to regroup. There’s some exciting things brewing for FRTW and I hope you guys will come along for the ride. Be sure to keep up with all my ins and outs of this journey by following me on social media. All my links are in the sidebar to your right.

Remember it’s not goodbye, its see you later!

xoxo,
Simone Danielle
