Black & White with a Pop of Blue

Happy Wednesday loves! We are beginning to wind down on the final few weeks of summer (*sad face*), however I’m a bit excited for Fall to come. Don’t get me wrong I looooove Summer, but I hate humidity. NYC can get very humid, which in turn makes people get all sticky and nasty.

Unbeknownst to me at the time, I decided to pick one of the hottest days of the week to shoot some OOTD pics. I won’t lie it was a bit rough because the sun was beaming! Nonetheless, my photographer and I pushed through it. We were by the water in Dumbo and the view was beautiful, so it wasn’t that bad.

Every women should own a pair of nice black shorts and I think I found my pair. When I first saw these on H&M’s website, I immediately had to add them to my cart. These are very loose fitting which I love because I tired of wearing shorts that are suffocating my thighs and I also like the “elastic” (it doesn’t stretch much, so its faux elastic) and tie detail.

You can dress these shorts up with a nice fitted blouse or a loose option like the one I’m wearing or you can dress it down with a cami and duster vest or a graphic tee. I decided to go with this top from the Target x Who What Wear collection, because I am a sucker for a bow blouse and I thought it would pair with the shorts very nicely. I was going for a clean, polished look; hence the pearls and the tied back hair (new hair, who dis?!).

This outfit would go very nicely with a nice pair of heels, however I opted out of wearing heels since I wanted to be comfortable and these lace up flats from Call It Spring still keeps the outfit looking very polish. I wanted to add a pop of color to the look, so I incorporated this beautiful cobalt blue cross body from Kate Spade Saturday.
