Happy New Year! I hope all of you had a great and safe New Years Eve. 2016 wasn’t all that bad – I was able to restart my blog again, get a new job and decided to go back to college. Now that it is officially 2017, I have a few goals that I hope to accomplish this year. For FRTW, I want to start a weekly email subscription for all of my loyal readers, where I share recaps of posts that I have for the week to whatever is trending in fashion, beauty and pop culture. Additionally, I want to be more active on social media (not just on Instagram) and share more content on my Twitter and Facebook page. It really isn’t easy. I don’t even post as much as I want to on Instagram, but I finally decided to download Hootsuite to help alleviate the stress with my three handles. And my final goal for the new year is to step out of my comfort zone. You never know what amazing things can happen you if you don’t step out of it. Sometimes its good be uncomfortable.
Now on to the outfit….
I’ve wanted a midi coat for the longest time, however I couldn’t find one that I liked. I found this one on ASOS (which is on major sale right now) and I was immediately drawn to the color. I love earth tones, e.g. brown, rust and olive, especially since they compliment my skin tone. When I saw this coat online, I knew I had to add to my closet and I’m happy I did since I’ve gotten so many compliments on it. I wanted to play up on the olive color of the coat that I paired it with a bodysuit in the same color family. The look I was going for was to be a bit matchy without being too monochromatic, so I paired the coat and top with black jeans and boots, as well as a black choker and hat. This has been my go-to look this season because it looks like I put a lot effort into this outfit when I really didn’t. Outfits like this come in handy when you don’t have the time to tear up your closet looking for something to wear.
What are some of your goals for 2017? I would love to hear about them, let me know in the comments down below!
