I started Fashion Runs the World
as an online resume to get my foot in the door into the fashion industry. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from Brooklyn College in Journalism & Television and Radio but I did not intern while attending. My time did not go to waste since I was an editor for the school newspaper and co-hosted a radio show. However, I still didn’t have the internship experience that I needed to snag a job.
But with the emergence of blogging and social media, I thought “why not?” If I couldn’t have the bigwigs of the industry take a chance on me, then I might as well show them. I’ve always had a passion for fashion – as cliché as it may sound. I’ve always made sure I was home to watch any red carpet (making critiques in my head), reading fashion magazines and drawing inspiration from the latest trends on the runway.
At its core Fashion Runs the World is a place where I can share my personal style choices with the world. To me, fashion runs the world because no matter where you go, one of the things that people can bond over is fashion. Everybody has different style. Even if someone isn’t into fashion or know what’s trendy, their clothes and style tells a story of who they are. A person doesn’t have to buy expensive pieces to have a great wardrobe; a person can wear inexpensive pieces and still look like a million bucks. About a two years ago I’ve been into beauty and can’t wait to share some tips and tricks that I’ve learned along the way as well. This blog is a combination of my three passions: writing, fashion and beauty and I can’t wait to share it with all of you!
